today's my ma's birthday. she was born 72 years ago. she passed through 24-and-a-smidge years ago. seems in some ways like yesterday. hard to believe that anyone will be as important to me again. then i consider my yet-unborn children. we'll see...

it's good you keep her close to your heart.
im real sorry you lost your mom.
i dont think you ever love someone in the same way. not when youve lost a person who lived in your heart.
but
i think theres different ways to love you know? different spaces of safety and light and warmth. and they dont replace your mom - or my brother - but it feels good soakin them in and that.
